Bone graft

If you are going forward with a dental implant procedure, you may need a bone graft if the volume of your jawbone is not sufficient to support the implants. This type of graft is needed to obtain the required bone density, thickness and length. Bone loss is usually caused by the prolonged wearing of a dental prosthesis or the loss of one or more teeth. Bone grafting is sometimes necessary to regenerate and strengthen a bone before implant placement.
