Diastema

A dental diastema is a space between two adjacent teeth. Most often, these spaces occur between the two upper incisors. A dental diastema is rarely problematic. Whether it shows between the central incisors or any front teeth, interdental spaces do not cause functional issues. People usually choose to close this gap for cosmetic reasons.

The main solutions for closing gaps between teeth:

  • Porcelain veneer to fill the space between teeth
  • Removable or fixed orthodontic appliances
  • Dental crown
  • Composite restoration
