Endodontics
What is an endodontic treatment?
We rely on endodontic treatments, or root canal treatments, to cure a localized infection in the dental pulp, treat pain and prevent the extraction of a tooth. Dental pulp is soft tissue that is located inside the tooth and contains nerves and blood vessels. A root canal treatment is an attempt to save the tooth— and the success rate is very high.
Numerous situations can cause the pulp to become infected, such as a deep decay, repetitive dental treatments or a broken tooth. In addition, a knock received on a tooth may result in damage to the dental pulp, even if the tooth has no visible cracks or fractures. Symptoms indicating that the pulp is affected include pain, swelling, tenderness when chewing, prolonged sensitivity to heat and cold and tooth discolouration. However, in some cases there are no symptoms at all. If the infection and inflammation of the pulp are not cared for, the tooth can become abscessed and pain will occur.
Benefit from our technologies:
Our clinic is equipped with a variety of technologies to maximize the end result of the treatment and make the procedure as comfortable as possible. We use the Elements Obturation System to fill the root of your tooth, as well as Root ZX technology to electronically locate the extremity of the root.
